General Information:

The Dean’s Office in the College of Health and Behavioral Studies seeks a student assistant to assist with various tasks and projects. The student must be dependable and professional, as well as possess the ability to work independently to meet deadlines, have strong communication skills, and be able to work with a team. The ability to multitask and prioritize tasks efficiently is desired. The student must adhere to the college policies and safety protocols. Availability to work 13-15 hours per week preferred.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

Maintaining a professional, courteous demeanor when interacting with faculty, staff, and students. Assist with front desk coverage, including but not limited to greeting guests, directing guests to meetings with the Dean, and to meetings with various Associate Deans. Answering the phone lines and transferring calls, assisting with making copies, data entry using Excel, assisting with filing projects, and making deliveries to college departments. Confidentiality is required when managing documents and entering data information.
The Student Assistant will assist with Lost and Found items, including maintaining a tracking system. The Student Assistant will maintain an inventory of college marketing materials. There will be times when the student will assist staff and Associate Deans with preparing for college events throughout each semester.

 

Qualifications:

Students must have strong written and verbal communication skills for professional correspondence. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks is required. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications such as Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

- Assisting with college events that involve coordinating materials, invitations, RSVPs, room setup, catering, cleanup, and debriefing.

 

Conditions of Employment:  

Students must be degree-seeking students, enrolled on at least a half-time basis (6 credits for undergraduate and 5 credits for graduate).
