General Information:

The Director of Global Learning and Partnerships at the Center for Global Engagement (CGE) is responsible for advancing the university's internationalization efforts. This role includes coordinating curriculum internationalization, supporting faculty in developing global programs, and fostering strategic global partnerships. The Director also oversees the assessment of global learning initiatives, facilitates international research collaborations, and serves as a key liaison between the university and global partners. The position requires a doctoral degree, strong intercultural communication skills, knowledge of the field of international education, and experience in curriculum internationalization and global partnership development. Work location is primarily on-campus, with periodic travel and remote work.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Global Learning and Curriculum Internationalization:
● Coordinates curricular internationalization activities in collaboration with related areas at the University (e.g. CFI, CARS, CISR, colleges and academic units, etc.)
● Builds relationships with the Colleges, liaison with the internal and external global advisory councils, and leads the Community of Practices on global engagement
● Provides professional development to faculty members of all disciplines on internationalizing the curriculum and global learning
● Supports faculty in developing high-impact global programs

Global Learning Research and Assessment:
● Maintains an ongoing program of assessment of CGE global programming, including both “snapshot” and longitudinal data from recognized assessment instruments and direct supervision of the assessment administration
● Partners with Research and Scholarship and facilitate international collaborations on research and grants
● Disseminates the latest research and practices on internationalization

Global Partnership:
● Analyzes and develops strategic global partnerships to better align with Academic Affairs and CGE’s strategic goals
● Promotes and supports CGE’s priorities and plays a vital role in the internationalization of the campus, including student exchange, joint programs, faculty research collaboration, etc.
● Supports the Fulbright faculty fellow and serves as the primary contact for networking and connecting with departments for research programs
● Identifies, coordinates, and initiates policies, procedures, and protocols related to global programming
● Prepares reports, data, and formal presentations on global learning and partnerships

 

Qualifications:

Required
● Doctoral degree
● Knowledge of the field of international education, global learning, global partnerships, or related best practices
● Experience in global learning, curriculum internationalization, faculty development at a university
● Experience in the assessment of international programming
● Experience in developing global partnerships with universities around the world
● Experience building and fostering strong relationships with faculty members across colleges and academic departments
● Experience in providing professional development on internationalization to faculty members and the campus
● Strong intercultural communication skills and ability to work with diverse communities and with individuals from a wide range of cultures

Preferred:
● Substantial experience related to global learning and partnerships
● Experience of teaching in the university setting
● Demonstrated record of effective assessment of global programming
● Demonstrated experience developing policies, procedures, reports, and training materials and programs
● Previous experience living, working, or traveling abroad
