General Information:

The Breeze is hiring its Breeze TV News Director. The student selected for this position
will oversee a weekly broadcast news show that airs live. The Breeze TV News Director
is the senior leader for Breeze TV.

Position begins April 1 with training during March. Must be able to be back on campus
two weeks prior to the beginning of the fall semester.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Lead the staff in creating a 30-minute news show each week
- Guide reporters in producing stories for the weekly show and online news site
- Oversee production and editorial staff
- Make editorial and coverage decisions
- Lead the staff in upholding journalistic ethics and standards

 

Qualifications:

- Ideal candidate will have served on Breeze TV for at least one semester
- Ability to lead a team toward a common goal
- Writing, editing, broadcasting, and management skills
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Excellent communication skills

Conditions of Employment:  

Students must be degree-seeking students, enrolled on at least a half-time basis (6 credits for undergraduate and 5 credits for graduate).
