General Information:

The Facilities Management Engineering Department is seeking to hire a summer intern to assist with several unique mapping projects. This will consist of a mix of an indoor office environment and outdoor field data collection with the majority of time expected to be in the field. This position will be approximately 30 hours per week through the summer. This position may be extended into the fall semester depending upon department needs.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

-Collecting campus utilities data
-Assisting FM staff with additional GIS projects as needed

 

Qualifications:

Qualifications:
•Must currently be enrolled in an undergraduate program with major coursework in Geography, GIS, GPS, Cartography, and Geospatial Analysis.
•Experience with ArcGIS product suite (ArcMap, ArcCatalog, ArcGIS Pro etc.)
•Data collection experience using advanced GPS units (preferably survey grade).
•Ability to carry GPS equipment essential (15-20lbs).
•Ability to work long periods of time outside in various weather conditions.

Additional Considerations:
•Understanding of ArcGIS Online
•Experience using Field Maps for ArcGIS mobile application

 

Conditions of Employment:  

Students must be degree-seeking students, enrolled on at least a half-time basis (6 credits for undergraduate and 5 credits for graduate).

Students must have a 2.0 or better cumulative GPA.
