General Information:

This is a Federal Work Study (FWS) position only- if you do not have FWS, do not apply.
Hours will be based on student schedule and availability- 8-10 hours/week

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ensure students follow lab use guidelines
• Assist with lab activities and simulation while monitoring consumable supplies
• Organize and prepare lab environments, supplies, and equipment for instructional purposes- report issues as directed
• Inspect, clean, and organize lab equipment and spaces as appropriate
• Restock and monitor labs/carts and storage areas- report consumable supply needs as directed
• Support simulation experiences as needed and use independent judgment to complete projects
• Utilize audiovisual, simulation, and computing technology
• Prepare lab environments, supplies, and equipment for instructional purposes- report issues as directed
• Initiate, implement, and report on assigned duties using Cloud-based spreadsheets

 

Qualifications:

• Reliable, prompt, and able to adhere to the prescribed work schedule
• Advanced problem solving with some independent decision making
• Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to initiate projects and be self-directed in completing tasks from a general task list
• Advanced computer skills with regard to Windows and MAC operating systems
• Ability to work independently, take initiative, and complete tasks in a timely manner
• Ability to collaborate with faculty, students, staff, and college members
• Ability to organize and problem-solve
• Support the mission, vision, and values of the SON and JMU

Conditions of Employment:  

Students must be degree-seeking students, enrolled on at least a half-time basis (6 credits for undergraduate and 5 credits for graduate).
