General Information:

James Madison University’s Facilities Management is accepting applications for a Plumber Steamfitter Senior to perform Master level technical tasks in plumbing, gas, fire sprinkler, and steamfitting trades. This position requires participation in an on-call rotation.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

Participates as a member of a team providing plumbing, steam, and other trade services to complete assigned projects
Services, maintains, inspects, and repairs plumbing, steam, fire sprinkler, food service, heating, and other equipment as assigned
Installs plumbing, steam, or other equipment as assigned. Installation may include design and/or specification elements
Assignments are completed in a timely and correct manner according to code, policy, and regulations
Records and provides information as requested
Communicates important information to the supervisor or other designated individuals

 

Qualifications:

Required:
Knowledge of and demonstrated experience with commercial, institutional, and residential plumbing, heating, steam equipment, fire sprinklers, food service equipment, welding, soldering, and plumbing code
Master level plumbing/steam fitting skills
Good written and oral communication skills
Skilled in dealing with a wide assortment of personalities, both directly and indirectly
Master plumber certification required within 2 years of hire
Backflow certification is required within 2 years of hire
A Valid Driver's License
