General Information:

James Madison University's Facilities Management Is currently hiring for a Plumber/Steamfitter Lead. This position will perform master level technical tasks in plumbing, gas , fire sprinkler and steam fitting trades.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

•Servicing, maintaining, inspecting and repairing commercial and residential plumbing, steam, fire sprinkler, gas, food service, swimming pool, lawn sprinkler, heating, laboratory and other equipment as assigned
•Providing leadership, troubleshooting assistance and communication to plumber steamfitters while providing support to the supervisor
•Installing plumbing, steam or other equipment as assigned, this may include designing and/or specification elements

 

Qualifications:

•Knowledge of and demonstrated experience with commercial, institutional and residential plumbing , heating, steam equipment , welding, soldering, backflow devices, pressure reducing valves, ACV's and plumbing code
•Must have master level plumbing/steamfitting skills as they apply to a wide variety of equipment
•Must possess a Backflow Prevention Device Worker Certification
•Must posses a Master Plumber License
•Ability to communicate effectively in a written and oral format
•Strong leadership skills
•Strong computer skills
•Ability to accommodate any necessary temporary shift demands and be available for the required rotating on call responsibilities
