General Information:
JMU VALOR serves as a support for all military-connected students, faculty, and staff at James Madison University.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Understand and complete timesheets accurately. Sign and complete timesheets to supervisor each pay period.
• Welcome and assist JMU VALOR students greet as guests enter, provide friendly assistance and guidance as needed.
• Maintain JMU VALOR resource center to ensure the center is kept clean and organized. Walk the entire space several times per shift to check on guests and keep the space clean and organized.
• Inventory JMU VALOR items, keeping track of supplies such as office materials, refreshments, communication pamphlets, and replenish as needed.
• Administrative support by assisting with tasks such as filling out paperwork for access, scheduling appointments, and updating JMU VALOR student database.
• Event coordination, assisting with the planning and execution of events and workshops hosted by JMU VALOR. This includes set up, clean up, and other logistics as they arise.
• Positively promote JMU VALOR actively in person, on social media.
• Support the JMU VALOR resource center as needs arise.
• Maintain confidentiality of those who use the space.
Qualifications:
• Be a current JMU student (must be enrolled in at least 6 credits)
• Ability to work a maximum of 10 hours per week
• Knowledge of Microsoft, Teams and Social Media Platforms.
• Effective time management, task organization, and prioritization skills.
• Maintain flexibility, think critically, and identify solutions.
• Able to interact with the public and assist and events.
• Eligible for Federal Work Study.

Conditions of Employment:
Students must be degree-seeking students, enrolled on at least a half-time basis (6 credits for undergraduate and 5 credits for graduate).
Students must have a 2.0 or better cumulative GPA.
