General Information:

James Madison University Facilities Management Department is currently accepting applications for an HVAC Technician Assistant. This person will assist with repairs and maintenance on all HVAC and related equipment on the campus of James Madison University.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

-Assists with repairs and maintenance of HVAC equipment
-Assists with seasonal maintenance of HVAC systems to provide reliable and efficient operation.
-Works safely, as well as correcting and reporting safety issues
-Orders needed parts and materials for jobs.
-Keeps tools and test equipment in good working condition
-Maintains truck and helps with shop housekeeping
-Follows written and verbal instructions and provides clear communication with customers, supervisors, and associates
-Provides input for replacement of HVAC and related systems

 

Qualifications:

*Entry level Knowledge of HVAC and related equipment
*Moderate computer skills
*Knowledge and ability to work with hand tools
*Knowledge and ability to work safely with ladders and power tools
*Must have a valid driver's license
