General Information:

The Department of Philosophy and Religion at James Madison University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of philosophy, beginning in Fall of 2025. AOS: Ancient Greek Philosophy. AOC: Open, but special consideration will be given to candidates who can help meet departmental teaching needs, which include teaching courses in the Legal Studies minor.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

Teaching responsibilities are a 3/3 load with an upper-level class and teaching in General Education.

 

Qualifications:

Applicants should show potential for excellence in research and teaching. Qualified applicants must possess a Ph.D. in Philosophy and a demonstrated ability to teach at least one of the following: Critical Thinking, Ethical Reasoning, and Introduction to Philosophy.
