General Information:

The James Madison University Police Department is seeking a knowledgeable, detail oriented Part-Time Accreditation Manager to lead, manage, and coordinate all aspects of our current state accreditation and pursue national accreditation for our law enforcement and public safety programs. This role is critical in ensuring our department's operations meet and exceed professional standards and best practices in public safety and law enforcement.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Lead and coordinate the full national accreditation process, including initial certification and ongoing compliance.

• Manage all aspects of the VALEPC program, ensuring timely submission of required documentation and reports.

• Develop, review, and maintain policies and procedures in alignment with accreditation standards.

• Serve as the primary point of contact with national and state accreditation commissions.

• Train and support staff on accreditation requirements and best practices.

• Conduct internal audits and assessments to ensure continued compliance.

• Organize and maintain detailed records, files, and accreditation documentation.

• Prepare for and coordinate on-site assessments and audits.

• Monitor and report progress to leadership regularly.

 

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:
• Proven experience with accreditation or a similar law enforcement/public safety accreditation process.

• Strong understanding of public safety standards, policies, and procedures.

• Excellent organizational, project management, and communication skills.

• Ability to work independently.


Additional Considerations:
• Familiarity with policy management software and digital recordkeeping tools.

Conditions of Employment:
