Duties and Responsibilities:

• Greet and assist guests coming to the front desk, including phone coverage.
• Prepare materials associated with workshops, maintain supplies and set up room in preparation for events.
• Prepare refreshments, greet participants, prepare the podium computer, assist the facilitator with what they need and give opening announcements for workshops.
• Maintain room readiness by rearranging furniture when needed and anticipate needs for upcoming events.
• Connect with team members regarding varying projects.
• Participate in team meetings when available by reporting to the team any updates.
• Maintain a working system through Microsoft 360 programs to communicate and prepare for Talent Development events.
• Maintain tasks that are expected to be repeated regularly and on time.
• Be ready for any visitor to the office and training rooms, appearing professional and ready to help.

 

Qualifications:

• Be a full-time student
• Have availability during business hours 8am-5pm Monday-Friday
• Be detail oriented
• Be able to work with initiative and intention
• Be willing to learn new skills required to complete job responsibilities

Conditions of Employment:  

You must be a current JMU student (enrolled in at least 6 credits) who qualifies for Federal Work Study.*
