General Information:

James Madison University (JMU) School of Nursing invites applications for a 12-month renewable term appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor of Practice beginning April 1, 2027. The School of Nursing offers CCNE-accredited Baccalaureate, Master’s, and Doctor of Nursing Practice programs. This position will primarily support the Fast Flex BSN, a new initiative designed to operate during evenings and weekends, with a primarily precepted clinical model.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The duties and responsibilities for this position include teaching, scholarship, and professional, community, and/or university service. The role requires in-person teaching in classroom, laboratory, and clinical settings for the BSN-Fast Flex pathway.

Qualifications:

A minimum of a graduate degree in Nursing is required. An active RN registration and the ability to obtain Virginia nursing licensure by the position’s start date of April 1, 2027 are required. Candidates must have at least three years of recent clinical experience in adult health nursing. Teaching experience in higher education and flexibility to teach across a variety of topic areas is preferred.
