General Information:

James Madison University (JMU) School of Nursing invites applications for a 12-month, full-time faculty appointment at the rank of Assistant professor beginning January 10, 2027. The School of Nursing offers CCNE-accredited Baccalaureate, Master’s, and Doctor of Nursing Practice programs. This position will primarily support the Fast Flex BSN, a new initiative designed to operate during evenings and weekends, with a primarily precepted clinical model. Duties and Responsibilities:

The duties and responsibilities for this position include teaching, scholarship, and professional, community, and/or university service. The role requires in-person teaching in classroom, laboratory, and clinical settings for the Fast Flex BSN during evening and weekend hours.

Qualifications:

A minimum of a graduate degree in nursing at the time of hire and a doctoral degree conferral by December 2026, is required. An active RN license and eligibility for Virginia nursing licensure are required. Virginia RN licensure must be obtained by January 19, 2027. Candidates must have at least three years of recent clinical experience in adult health nursing. Teaching experience in higher education, and the flexibility to teach across a variety of topic areas in undergraduate nursing is preferred.
