General Information:

The Forbes Center for the Performing Arts at James Madison University is seeking a creative, organized, and detail-oriented part-time Marketing Assistant to support the planning, execution, and evaluation of marketing efforts for the Center’s performances and events.

Working closely with the Director of Marketing and Branding, this position will help increase awareness of Forbes Center programming, drive ticket sales, grow audience engagement, and strengthen the Center’s digital presence.

This position will provide hands-on experience in visual and performing arts marketing, digital marketing, social media, email marketing, audience development, advertising, content creation, and marketing analytics.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

•Support marketing campaigns for Forbes Center performances by coordinating timelines, promotional materials, email campaigns, social media, digital advertising, and other campaign needs.
•Schedule, upload, and/or send content for social media, email, print, and digital advertising channels.
•Assist with audience development and ticket sales efforts by supporting targeted promotions, community outreach, partnerships, and audience-specific campaigns.
•Track and report marketing performance by collecting data from email, social media, advertising, website, and ticketing platforms and helping identify campaign trends and opportunities.
•Maintain marketing organization and workflow by updating campaign calendars, coordinating marketing assets, and ensuring promotional tasks are completed accurately and on deadline.
•Provide general marketing and event support for Forbes Center special events and other projects as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

•Strong written and verbal communication skills.
•Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
•Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
•Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a team.
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
•Experience communicating with marketing vendors and/or partners acting as project lead or assistant.
•Experience coordinating digital content and marketing projects across social media platforms and email platforms.
•Proficiency with project tracking tools, shared drives, and basic office software.

Conditions of Employment:  

Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a criminal background check.

This is a part-time wage position working an average of 20 hours per week over the course of a calendar year with no benefits.
