General Information:

This technician position is part of the Lab Operations department, which is responsible for the daily upkeep in the General Computing Labs at JMU.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

* Monitors, troubleshoots, and resolves hardware, software, and network issues in computer labs and classrooms
* Serves as a technical resource for setup and daily operation of computing labs
* Helps upkeep documentation and inventory information
*Contributes to the IT team and makes suggestions for service improvements

 

Qualifications:

*Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Word and Excel
*Good working knowledge of computer and printer hardware and software setup and operation
*Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical customers
*Good customer service skills
