General Information:

The Institute for Innovation in Health and Human Services (IIHHS) is seeking a student employee to provide administrative support related to clinical billing, building management, and other duties as needed. Training will be provided. Applicants MUST be available to work up to 10-12 hours per week (Monday-Friday), including two evening shifts (Mondays & Wednesdays, up to 7:00 p.m.) and flexible daytime shifts (Tuesdays, Thursdays, & Fridays, up to 5:00 p.m.). Applicants MUST be eligible for Federal Work-Study assistance; a cover letter, resume, and financial aid offer letter must be included for applications to be considered.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

* Provide administrative support for IIHHS Clinical Billing coordinator and staff, and other IIHHS clinical service programs as needed
* Assist IIHHS Clinical Billing office with medical record alphabetizing, filing, mailings, and audits as directed by staff
* Assist clients with taking payments at IIHHS Clinical Billing office and cover office responsibilities for Counseling & Psychological Services (CAPS) program as needed
* Maintain and secure Campbell Building spaces during evening shifts (Mon, Wed) and help maintain clinic and shared spaces
* Data entry for clinic room usage analysis spreadsheets (MS Excel) and other projects
* Serve as front desk receptionist at IIHHS Clinical Billing office as needed (greeting customers, answering telephone, taking messages, sorting mailing, etc.)
* Assist with other duties as needed

 

Qualifications:

* Accuracy and attention to detail
* Good customer service skills
* Basic computer literary skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and ability to learn new computer software systems
* Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality (knowledge of HIPPA regulations and practices is very helpful)
* Reliability and dependability
* Ability to commute or secure reliable transportation to Campbell Building, located at 755 MLK Jr. Way near the JMU campus, for regular daytime and evening shifts

Conditions of Employment:  

Students must be degree-seeking students, enrolled on at least a half-time basis (6 credits for undergraduate and 5 credits for graduate).

Students must have a 2.0 or better cumulative GPA.
