General Information:

The Talent Development department seeks a current JMU student to provide editing and graphic design support as the Talent Development Graphics Intern. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills and must have completed graphic design coursework. The Talent Development Graphics Intern will support employee success, anticipate needs, and exceed expectations by creating engaging graphics for digital, print, and social media use in support of workshop/learning opportunities to enhance the knowledge, skills, and talents of our staff and faculty.

ONLY JMU STUDENTS MAY APPLY. This is a part-time position working 8 -20 hours per week with no benefits; hours are flexible as long as they occur between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Tuesday through Thursday.

Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a criminal background investigation.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Talent Development Graphics Intern position duties include, but are not limited to, assisting with the communication of professional development opportunities, developing marketing materials, editing workshop content, and assisting with document distribution.

The intern may also be responsible for assisting and welcoming customers, setting up and breaking down training rooms, answering telephones, and other general office duties. The intern will interact with a supportive and creative team, become aware of a wide variety of professional development activities, and learn about training program development and delivery.

 

Qualifications:

Applicant must be a current JMU student taking at least 6 credit hours. The Talent Development Graphics Intern position is a great opportunity for a current JMU student to gain knowledge, skills, and experience in a professional setting.

The ideal candidate will have completed graphic design course(s) and possess creativity to design marketing materials. A desire to learn about the Talent Development field aswell as experience with Adobe Creative Suite (ID/AI/PS), Canva, and Microsoft PowerPoint as graphic design tools is required. Strong attention to detail, professionalism, and excellent organizational skills are required. Experience with Articulate 360 and social media marketing would be a plus.

 

Additional Posting Information:

Training for this position will begin in November/December 2026.

The minimum wage will increase to $13.75 on January 1, 2027.

 

Conditions of Employment:  

Students must be degree-seeking students, enrolled on at least a half-time basis (6 credits for undergraduate and 5 credits for graduate).
