General Information:
The Forbes Center for the Performing Arts seeks Box Office Student Assistant to sell tickets, prepare reports, and give exemplary customer service to all patrons. This school year position is expected to start January 21, 2025. Eligible Assistants will be asked to come back each school year. Limited summer hours are available, but not required. Available hours per week are between 7 and 10, averaged over the entire school year.
AVAILABILITY REQUIREMENTS: Assistant must be able to work a variety of both day and evening hours, including weekends. Assistant is required to be available to some degree at least 4 days and 4 nights each week to accommodate for a varying event calendar. Day shifts will be scheduled around class times. Day shifts can be anytime between 9:45 am and 5:45 pm. Evening/Show shifts can be anytime between 5 pm and 8 pm. Weekend shifts vary depending on event times.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Process point-of-sale computer sales for all ticketed performances in person, by phone, or mail in order
- Prepare sales reconciliations
- Provide courteous service for all ticket inquiries from student and community members, while also providing a high level of fiscal confidentiality
- Must maintain a professional demeanor and appearance when conducting sales for all events
- Data entry and database maintenance
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Customer service experience including phone and in person sales
- Excellent communication skills
- High level of attention to detail
- Calm under pressure
- Ability to work without the benefit of manager supervision
- Appreciation of the arts is a plus!

Conditions of Employment:
Students must be degree-seeking students, enrolled on at least a half-time basis (6 credits for undergraduate and 5 credits for graduate).
Students must have a 2.0 or better cumulative GPA.
