General Information:
The Virginia Department of Education I'm Determined Center (IMD) at JMU is seeking a qualified and experienced Fiscal Technician to perform fiscal tasks on behalf of the center according to policy and procedural expectations. This position completes required paperwork regarding IMD Center staff and outside consultants, and offers support to other office staff as needed to ensure a consistent office flow.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Monitors activities and tracks costs for the multiple grant awards that the Virginia Department of Education has provided IMD.
• Ensures compliant and accurate disbursement of all grant funds in accordance with federal, state, and grant guidelines.
• Communicates with various departments and personnel in Procurement, Accounts Payable, Office of Sponsored Programs, and other offices on campus.
• Orders materials and supplies for the grants and answers fiscal questions.
• Performs all fiscal technical tasks according to policy and procedural expectations.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Knowledge of general office principles and practices
• Detail oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills
• Experience with Microsoft Office products, including Excel and Word
• Ability to multi-task in a deadline driven, fast-paced environment
• Ability to communicate effectively with diverse constituents (both orally and in writing)
• Ability to deal with difficult situations in a profession and confidential manner
• Ability to uphold a high level of accuracy and data integrity
• Ability to work with a team and independently when necessary
Additional Considerations:
• PeopleSoft HRMS experience
• PeopleSoft Finance experience
• Experience with eVA
