The Valley Internship Experience Workgroup (VIEW) initiative is part of a state-wide effort to expand paid and credit-bearing student internships and other work-based learning opportunities in collaboration with Virginia employers. The Virginia Talent + Opportunity Partnership (V-TOP) facilitates the readiness of students, employers, and institutions of higher education to participate in internship and work-based learning. The VIEW is working to significantly increase the number of internship and work-based learning programs currently available in the Shenandoah Valley (GO Virginia Region 8).
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Assist with marketing and outreach to include creating promotional fliers, and social media posts, writing success stories for newsletters, attending networking events
• Assist with event planning, such as Virginia Intern Day and regional conferences/events
• Assist with in-person and/or virtual meeting planning/prep
• Assist with developing presentations and educational workshop content

• Successful progress in a college degree program
• Interest or experience in marketing, graphic design, event planning, communications, student career services, internships, economic, community, or talent development preferred

Work hours & benefits
• 20-40 hours/week during summer semester
• 8-15 hours/week during fall and/or spring semester
• $15/hour
• Potential to earn college credit, if desired by intern

• Primarily in person w/occasional remote work

Conditions of Employment:
Students must be degree-seeking students, enrolled on at least a half-time basis (6 credits for undergraduate and 5 credits for graduate).
Students must have a 2.0 or better cumulative GPA.
