General Information:

The Digital Marketing Intern is an integral part of JMU's Digital Marketing Team, which is responsible for the quality and brand consistency of the University's digital experiences on the website and in email. Our team helps maintain over 26,000 pages on www.jmu.edu and aims to improve user experience and accessibility for all visitors.

The Digital Marketing Intern is an integral part of our small, collaborative team. From conducting regular webpage maintenance to assisting with larger design and user-experience tasks, this position is an excellent entry-level position for anyone interested in marketing, branding, web programming, or UX fields.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Help maintain the brand consistency of James Madison University on digital platforms
- Review updated/newly published web pages
- Edit and/or suggest edits to improve the user experience of web pages
- Complete daily webpage health reports
- Data entry as assigned

 

Qualifications:

Required:
- Attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills
- Desire/willingness to learn new skills

Additional consideration given for:
- Knowledge of HTML/CSS code, Adobe Photoshop
- Experience using Mac systems
- Awareness of web accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1AA)

Conditions of Employment:  

Students must be degree-seeking students, enrolled on at least a half-time basis (6 credits for undergraduate and 5 credits for graduate).
