General Information:
The Office of the Registrar at James Madison University is seeking a highly motivated individual to join the office as a Coordinator of Special Population Transitions.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the receipt and review of transcripts for admitted special populations such as Student Athletes, Adult Degree, Military, RN to BSN and international students.
- Review course descriptions and consults with academic departments to assign credit to a JMU equivalent course.
- Counsel prospective students and advisors on transfer policies.
-Post evaluated credit to a matriculated students official record using the student administration system.
-Coordinate transfer credit requests for continuing special population students.
- Assist in updating the Transfer Credit Equivalency Guide using TES (Transfer Evaluation System).
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications
• Ability to handle and prioritize a large volume of work.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of student record.
• Ability to work independently but seek advice and direction from supervisor as needed.
• Ability to serve constituents in personable and efficient manner.
Additional Considerations:
• Knowledge of university and office policies and procedures.
• Knowledge of functionality of student administration system
• Knowledge/understanding of system setup as related to work tasks.
